Teeth issues are painful. So much so that they can even debilitate your ability to be productive. Therefore, it is crucial to regularly check on your oral health to ensure that everything is fine.

If your teeth have trauma, disease, or even crowding, it means that you need a dental extraction. Some people may find it unnerving to have their tooth extracted, but it is one of the best ways to fix dental health if it starts to fails.

However, not every painful sensation you feel in your mouth means that you need a dental extraction. Following are some signs that you need a dental extraction.

  • Severe Tooth Pain: If you are suffering a case of impaction, you may experience severe tooth pain. The pain will be sharp, as the tooth will be pushing on the flesh and other teeth, and it may get worse as you chew. This means that your tooth constantly experiences trauma, and having it extracted will help relieve the pain.
  • Gum Infection: Gum infections are one of the most common causes behind tooth extractions. Once you know you have a gum infection, you shouldn’t waste any time before consulting your dentist for an extraction.
  • Jaw Pain and Stiffness: If you feel pain or stiffness in your jaws, it may indicate a possible infection or damage. Many jaw pains relate to swelling on the gum line. A lingering disease can also reduce the mobility of your jaw. Having the diseased tooth extracted can help solve this issue and prevent any more issues from forming.
