What to Look for: Oral Cancer Symptoms
Keep an eye out for these symptoms in your gums, inner cheeks, tongue, and lips.
- A persistent mouth sore for 3 weeks or more
- Unusual white or red patches inside your mouth
- Feeling pain or tenderness in your mouth
- Presence of a lump in your mouth, lips, neck, or throat
- Changes in your voice
- Feeling of food getting stuck while swallowing
- Unexplained drop in weight
If you have had a tooth implant
Tooth implants can make sores more noticeable due to increased sensitivity in the mouth—moreover, signs of unexplained bleeding in the mouth after a bone graft dental procedure can be concerning.
When to See a Doctor
If any of these symptoms persist for more than two weeks, it is best to see a dentist immediately.
