Reasons for Tooth Extraction

Teeth may be removed due to severe decay or breakage of a tooth. Teeth may also be removed if infection , discomfort or pain exist - as with many wisdom teeth cases. However, teeth may also be removed because of:

  • Severe tooth decay or infection
  • Severe gum disease
  • To make room for orthodontic treatment
  • The tooth cannot be restored
  • Fractured teeth
  • To make room for a dental prosthesis (i.e.: bridge or denture)
  • Cosmetic reasons
