Reasons for Tooth Extraction
Teeth may be removed due to severe decay or breakage of a tooth. Teeth may also be removed if infection , discomfort or pain exist - as with many wisdom teeth cases. However, teeth may also be removed because of:
- Severe tooth decay or infection
- Severe gum disease
- To make room for orthodontic treatment
- The tooth cannot be restored
- Fractured teeth
- To make room for a dental prosthesis (i.e.: bridge or denture)
- Cosmetic reasons
